What are the different types of PTA?
- Local – Local PTAs are affiliated with one public school or multiple public schools or a specific community (i.e., LGBTQ, Special education).
- District/Council/Region – A D/C/R supports a group of local PTAs within an area (i.e., by city, county, school district).
- State – A state PTA supports all PTAs within their state, from chartering a PTA to annual training.

Fall 2025 National PTA Programs Grants
Apply Aug. 20 – Sept. 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PDT
Grants help your PTA make National PTA programs more inclusive and accessible. Applying for funding from National PTA is easy! Over $1M in grants is available to local PTAs to run engaging programs that provide families with the information and tools to make all children’s potential a reality.
Steps to Apply
1. Prepare contacts. Make sure you have contact information available for the primary contact and two additional contacts for your PTA. One of these contacts should be your PTA president.
2. Get insight for a successful application. You don’t need to be a grant-writer to submit a successful application!
- Review the scoring rubric to understand what you should include in your written or video responses.
- Reflect on the program overviews and funding requirements to be sure the program is a good fit for your PTA.
3. Complete the application—save drafts as you go!
- Click “Manage Collaborators” to allow others to contribute to the application.
4. If you run into any challenges, join one of our Q&A Sessions:

2025-2026 Vape-Free Futures Challenge Grant
Apply Aug. 20 – Sept. 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PDT
The 2025-2026 Vape-Free Futures Challenge Grant provides district/council/region PTAs with $2,500 of support from Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids to conduct grassroots advocacy on the issue of vaping and e-cigarette use. Challenge grantees will select one of the following pathways: providing testimony to their identified decisionmaker(s); raising public awareness through a media outreach campaign with their identified messenger(s); or coordinating a vape-free townhall event with their identified partner(s). Each advocacy pathway is designed to amplify the voice of PTA by generating a grassroots movement around anti-vaping. National PTA will provide advocacy guidance that aligns with existing National PTA positions. Grantees will be required to participate in monthly community of practice or one-on-one calls with National PTA.

2025-2026 High School PTSA/PTA Youth Engagement Capacity Building (YECB) Funding Opportunity

National PTA is offering up $5,000 each to up to 20 high school PTAs as part of the High School PTSA/PTA Youth Engagement Capacity Building (YECB) funding opportunities to help engage youth. National PTA’s YECB funding is made possible with non-dues revenue from corporate funders. Apply now!
- You MUST be a high school PTSA/PTA in good standing to apply! Special Education PTAs serving high school students are eligible.

2025-2026 State PTA Capacity Building (SPCB) Funding Opportunity
Apply Aug. 20 – Oct. 1, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. PDT
The application deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Once you begin the application, you can save your progress and return it at any time prior to the deadline. Applicants have the ability to add collaborators to your application to allow more than one person access. Click “Manage Collaborators” to use this feature.
