Fall 2026 National PTA Program Grants

Grants help your PTA make National PTA programs more inclusive and accessible. Applying for funding from National PTA is easy! Funding is available for local and district/council/region PTAs to run engaging programs that provide families with the information and tools to make all children’s potential a reality.

Steps to Apply 

1. Prepare application contacts. Make sure you have contact information available for the primary contact and two additional contacts for your PTA. One of these contacts should be your PTA president. 

2. Get insight for a successful application. You don’t need to be a grant-writer to submit a successful application! 

• Review the scoring rubric to understand what you should include in your written or video responses.  
• Reflect on the program overviews and funding requirements to be sure the program is a good fit for your PTA. 

3. Complete the application—save drafts as you go! 

• Click “Manage Collaborators” to allow others to contribute to the application.

The 2026-2027 National PTA Language Access Grant will provide $1,000 each to 20 local and/or district, council or regional (D/C/R) PTAs to progress and/or enhance established efforts their PTA has taken to increase sustainable language access efforts* for multilingual and non-English speaking families to strengthen their belonging in their school communities .

*Sustainable language access efforts are defined as systems and/or processes that set multilingual and non-English speaking families up for long-term success and that go beyond one-time events or programs. 

Priority will be given to PTAs that are already doing work to sustainably increase language access in their school community.

The 2026-2027 Vape-Free Futures Challenge Grant provides district/council/region PTAs with $2,500 of support from Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids to take action on the issue of vaping and e-cigarette use. Challenge grantees will select one of the following pathways: providing testimony to their identified decisionmaker(s); raising public awareness through a media outreach campaign with their identified messenger(s); or coordinating a vape-free townhall event with their identified partner(s). Each pathway is designed to amplify the voice of PTA by generating a grassroots movement around anti-vaping. National PTA will provide guidance that aligns with existing National PTA positions. Grantees will be required to participate in monthly community of practice or one-on-one calls with National PTA.

2026-2027 High School PTSA/PTA Youth Engagement Capacity Building (YECB) Funding Opportunity 

Apply Sep. 15 – Oct. 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PDT 

National PTA is offering $3,000 each to up to 8 high school PTSA/PTAs as part of the High School PTSA/PTA Youth Engagement Capacity Building (YECB) funding opportunity to help engage youth. National PTA’s YECB funding is made possible with non-dues revenue from corporate funders. Apply now!  

• You MUST be an active high school PTA/PTSA affiliated with your state PTA with paid membership in the past 18 months to apply! Special Education PTAs serving high school students are eligible. Note: Previous recipients of YECB grant funding are not eligible to apply.

National PTA invites PTA leaders committed to supporting and enhancing digital safety efforts in schools and communities to apply for the Center for Family Engagement PTA Connected Fellowship. This fellowship was created to help PTA leaders advance digital safety awareness and understanding for children and families across PTA. 

This is a 12-month cohort-based fellowship opportunity, beginning December 2026, for PTA leaders to expand their knowledge, influence and leadership around digital safety and National PTA’s PTA Connected initiative. Five fellows will be awarded a $1,000 stipend. The fellows will use the learning they gain during the fellowship to:     

1. Enhance leadership skills to advance digital safety in their school and community. 
2. Co-develop and implement an action plan around a community issue or problem of practice related to digital safety and document progress throughout the fellowship.  
3.  Contribute to the continuous improvement of the PTA Connected initiative by helping to inform National PTA’s digital safety priorities, resources and family engagement programs. 

Eligibility: You MUST be leaded in a PTA that is in good standing and your PTA must have implemented a program from National PTA's PTA Connected initiative within the past two years.     

What is the time commitment for the Center for Family Engagement PTA Connected Fellowship?  

• Attend mutually agreed-upon one-hour monthly cohort meetings.
• Two to four hours of independent work per month.
• Availability for one-on-one support during term.

The Jan Harp Domene Diversity and Inclusion Awards recognize PTAs that best demonstrate outstanding achievement in the areas of diversity and inclusion, as well as efforts to end discriminatory practices. The award is named after past National PTA President Jan Harp Domene who served from 2007-2009 and honors her deep commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion throughout all levels of PTA. The award is presented in three categories: 

• State PTA 
• District/council/region or community (e.g., special education, pride, school feeder pattern, statewide, etc.) PTA 
• Local PTA 

PTAs in good standing who have made efforts to diversify their PTA, advance more equitable and just outcomes for students and families and/or create inclusive PTAs and communities in the past fiscal year (2025-2026) can apply. Awardees will be honored during National PTA’s Annual Convention in June 2027. They will receive a $1,000 cash award along with a trophy and certificates, along with further opportunities for recognition. PTAs everywhere represent parents, caregivers, educators and communities from all walks of life, which enables us to best achieve PTA’s mission to make every child’s potential a reality. In 2020, National PTA adopted guiding beliefs and definitions (English and Español) that articulate our commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion:  

• Diversity is our strength.   
• Collaboration must be inclusive.   
• Equity drives our mission.

2026-2027 Youth-Led Service Grant, Supported by The Allstate Foundation 

In collaboration with The Allstate Foundation, National PTA is rolling out a new Youth-Led Service Grant program. This grant will provide $5,000 to help local PTA/PTSAs expand their capacity to support youth-designed and youth-led service projects that address local school and community challenges identified by local youth.   

This grant requires two applicants: a local PTA/PTSA leader and a local youth co-applicant. It is open to PTA/PTSAs in good standing, who serve a middle and/or high school audience and want to expand their capacity for youth-adult partnership and leadership. 

Throughout the duration of this grant program, participating youth-adult teams will identify a need in their local community, design a service project, lead its implementation and evaluate its impact. The goal of this grant program is to empower youth leadership and service while building sustainable organizational capacity for authentic youth-adult partnership across the PTA network.
